It is an honor to reach out to officially welcome you to the new school year! If you are new to Waggoner, welcome! The Waggoner community is incredible, with the most caring and supportive families around! Of course, we LOVE our students and our TK through Second Grade school is home to some amazing young learners! We hope you are enjoying the last of summer and we are looking forward to the new school year!
As we begin the year, I know this time in our lives brings uncertainty and anxiousness about what lies ahead. I do not know what the future will bring, but I can assure you that our district staff has been hard at work all summer to craft the best plans possible for both safety and instruction. This year will be unlike any we have ever seen, and yet I am confident that we can still have a fantastic year. We are in this together, and we are here to support you!
This time of year traditionally is filled with dates and details about summer mailers, Meet the Teacher, the Paper Parade and more! We have reimagined all these things and I am excited to share lots of information with you!
For Distance Learning, we have created an all new schedule that provides a little shorter day and mostly common times for online and offline work for all grade levels - even though the kids might be doing different things! The schedule can be found here:
https://bit.ly/wagschedule . The daily schedule is TK & K 8:15-12:15 and 1st & 2nd 8:15-1:05. We also have office hours at the end of each day for family and student support. I will be hosting Virtual Chats with the Principal for families to answer questions before school starts!
Also, for the first eight days of school, Waggoner students and families will be set up for success with the Distance Learning Dolphin Boot Camp! During these first eight school days, students will get to know their teacher and each other, learn routines and procedures, explore materials, and learn the technology skills needed to be successful for online learning. We know this is all new! Those days will also have more paper/art/offline work- the kinds of things we would traditionally do the first week of school! This modified schedule will also allow time for teachers to meet with each family individually in a virtual conference. Distance Learning is all new to us, but school as a thing is new when you are little! This specific schedule will be shared soon!

¡Es un honor extender la mano para darle la bienvenida oficial al nuevo año escolar! Si eres nuevo en Waggoner, ¡bienvenido! La comunidad de Waggoner es increíble, ¡con las familias más cariñosas y solidarias! ¡Por supuesto, AMAMOS a nuestros estudiantes y nuestra escuela TK hasta el segundo grado es el hogar de algunos estudiantes jóvenes increíbles! ¡Esperamos que esté disfrutando el último verano y estamos ansiosos por el nuevo año escolar!
Al comenzar el año, sé que este momento en nuestras vidas trae incertidumbre y ansiedad sobre lo que nos espera. No sé lo que traerá el futuro, pero puedo asegurarles que el personal de nuestro distrito ha estado trabajando duro todo el verano para elaborar los mejores planes posibles tanto para la seguridad como para la instrucción. Este año será diferente a cualquier otro que hayamos visto y, sin embargo, estoy seguro de que todavía podemos tener un año fantástico. ¡Estamos juntos en esto y estamos aquí para apoyarlo!
¡Esta época del año tradicionalmente está llena de fechas y detalles sobre los anuncios publicitarios de verano, Conoce al Maestro, el Desfile de Papel y más! ¡Hemos reinventado todas estas cosas y estoy emocionado de compartir mucha información con ustedes!
Para el aprendizaje a distancia, hemos creado un horario completamente nuevo que proporciona un día un poco más corto y tiempos más comunes para el trabajo en línea y fuera de línea para todos los niveles de grado, ¡aunque los niños pueden estar haciendo cosas diferentes! También tenemos horas de oficina al final de cada día para el apoyo de la familia y los estudiantes. ¡Seré anfitrión de charlas virtuales con el director para que las familias respondan preguntas antes de que comience la escuela!
Además, durante los primeros ocho días de clases, los estudiantes y las familias de Waggoner estarán preparados para el éxito con el Campamento de entrenamiento con delfines de aprendizaje a distancia. Durante estos primeros ocho días escolares, los estudiantes llegarán a conocer a su maestro y entre ellos, aprenderán rutinas y procedimientos, explorarán materiales y aprenderán las habilidades tecnológicas necesarias para tener éxito en el aprendizaje en línea. ¡Sabemos que todo esto es nuevo! Esos días también tendrán más trabajo en papel / arte / fuera de línea, ¡el tipo de cosas que tradicionalmente haríamos la primera semana de clases! Este horario modificado también permitirá que los maestros se reúnan con cada familia individualmente en una conferencia virtual. El aprendizaje a distancia es nuevo para nosotros, ¡pero la escuela es nueva cuando eres pequeño! ¡Este horario específico se compartirá pronto!
