Almost June?

Hello Waggoner Families!

It's hard to imagine that there are only 13 days of school left this year! And that it's almost June! This is the time of year to reflect and celebrate -- although it has not been a typical year we still have lots to be grateful for. We are so thankful for our families and your partnership with us during this year. It truly takes a village to navigate challenges and we appreciate your support all year long with many changes. Through it all this Waggoner community has persevered and I am proud to have been on this journey with all of you!

Along with reflecting on this year, it's also exciting to be looking forward to next year! Last Thursday the WJUSD trustees approved Travis Nelson as Waggoner's next principal. I look forward to working with Mr. Nelson over the next few weeks and supporting him in taking the helm of the best school around! Mr. Nelson has been invited to join us at this Tuesday's PTA meeting at 6 PM on Zoom. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Nelson to Waggoner! 

Also, at the meeting we will also be electing a new PTA board and making plans for your favorite back to school events in August. We hope you can make this final PTA meeting before we head off into summer!

Students, Staff, and Parents: It’s almost time for the Summer Reading Program at the Winters Community Library! The Online Summer Reading Program this year runs from June 1st to August 14th. Read, log your reading, and complete fun activities to earn points to win prizes. Earn 1,000 points by August 14th to be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for gift cards and more! ¡Hola familias de Waggoner!

¡Es difícil imaginar que solo quedan 13 días de clases este año! ¡Y eso es casi junio! Esta es la época del año para reflexionar y celebrar, aunque no ha sido un año típico, todavía tenemos mucho que agradecer. Estamos muy agradecidos por nuestras familias y su asociación con nosotros durante este año. Realmente se necesita un pueblo para superar los desafíos y agradecemos su apoyo durante todo el año con muchos cambios. ¡A través de todo esto, esta comunidad de Waggoner ha perseverado y estoy orgulloso de haber estado en este viaje con todos ustedes!

Además de reflexionar sobre este año, ¡también es emocionante esperar el próximo año! El jueves pasado, los fideicomisarios de WJUSD aprobaron a Travis Nelson como el próximo director de Waggoner. ¡Espero trabajar con el Sr. Nelson durante las próximas semanas y apoyarlo para que tome el mando de la mejor escuela! El Sr. Nelson se unirá a nosotros en la reunión de la PTA de este martes a las 6 pm en Zoom. ¡Únase a nosotros para darle la bienvenida al Sr. Nelson a Wagoner!

Además, en la reunión también elegiremos una nueva junta de la PTA y haremos planes para sus eventos favoritos de regreso a clases en agosto. ¡Esperamos que pueda asistir a esta reunión final de la PTA antes de comenzar el verano!
