Jun 3 Last day of school!

It's hard to believe that we are almost halfway through May and not only do we miss seeing you, we know there are many special end of year events that are not happening this year. We look forward with hope to next year and will find a time to celebrate as a school as soon as we can!
As the end of the year approaches, we are also looking forward to next year and know that as we return in August that school may look different. At this time, we are planning for an August start and will share information as it becomes available. With some things looking different, some things will stay the same! Summer packets will be mailed in late July with information about the start of school, and we are looking forward to kicking off the 2020-21 school year with a fabulous team of educators as always! Later this month we will share a slide show to introduce our teachers and staff. We have a phenomenal team!

Related to back to school, some parents have inquired about teacher requests for next year. At Waggoner we work hard to create balanced classes with a mix of boys, girls, academic and social skills, parent volunteers, etc. With this in mind, we do not honor requests for specific teachers. However, if you would like to share information that would be helpful in placing your child, please reach out to me at jkloczko@wintersjusd.org. We will work to find the best possible placement for your child. Every team at Waggoner is filled with dedicated, passionate, and creative teachers and I know your child will have a great year!

As we near the end of the year, we hope that your learning at home is going well and we want you to know we are here to support you! Learning is important, but your health and happiness matters most! Please take time to breathe, take a break, and just do what you can. This is not easy! We hope that your family is doing okay!

Finally, I wanted to share that each student will receive a third trimester report card by mail in June. The marks will be where students were performing at the time of school closure and will include a brief comment about distance learning participation. District-wide, students will not have lower grades than when school closed, although at middle school and highschool they do have the opportunity to improve.

As always, my door is open "virtually" --- please reach out with any questions you may have. I look forward to seeing you soon! Please text or call me at 530-830-0028 if you need anything!

Warmly,
Jennifer Kloczko
